FAFSA Fridays @ LSSC

Friday’s are back in full swing for the month of April! Our financial aid professionals will be on hand to help students and their families complete the FAFSA. This service will be available at the Leesburg and South Lake campus locations. Please direct students to the link below to sign up for a time slot (information also available on the LSSC homepage):

If any SENIORS  are undecided on their college choice, Valdosta State University is still an option!

Please let them know of Valdosta State University’s last free application week for the fall 2017 Class! If a Student Applies between April 2nd and April 9th, there will be no application fee. If you don’t know about us yet, we are a Four-Year, traditional public University that is offering in-state tuition to all Florida students (we are located in South Georgia). Share the following instructions with your students and encourage them to reach out to me with any questions. After April 9th, the $40 fee will be required to submit the application.



Career Source of Central Florida is looking for High School Aged YOUTH 16-19 years old. Applicants will participate in a 7 week job placement earning $8.50 per hour working up to 30 hours per week. A 1 week internship/orientation is required prior to starting & applicants can earn up to $200 for completing the workshop.

Virtual College Week April 4-6, 2017

Save the Date: Virtual College Week April 4-6,
FloridaShines, Florida’s student hub of
innovative educational services, is hosting Virtual College Week April 4-6, 2017.
Representatives from the Florida College System, State University System,
Florida Department of Education and others will showcase information to Florida
high school juniors and seniors, parents and school counselors. This no cost,
live event will feature presentations from experts in the areas of college
preparation, admissions, financial aid and more. Prior to the day of the
presentations, FloridaShines will provide online resources to prepare students
with additional materials. After the live events, FloridaShines will showcase
presentation recordings and follow-up information to connect students and
parents with their institutions of interest. For more information, contact

This event takes place at the Waterfront Park in Clermont.  Events last several hours depending on the number of participants, number of races and their distances, but you can work a shift that best fits into your schedule.
